Looking for a little escape? Asheville, NC, is the place to be! I’ve been there a few times, and let me tell you — it’s a REALLY COOL spot for a weekend trip. Whether you’re with friends, family, or even on a ROMANTIC honeymoon, Asheville really has a lot to offer. Let me show you some of my favorite parts of this awesome place, and by the end of this guide, you’ll be all set for your own Asheville weekend adventure!
The Best walk to Stay in Asheville, NC
When it comes to Asheville, I’ve stayed in several different spots, and each one has its own special charm. But, I’ve to say to stay very close to downtown itself. You’ll find a mix of incredible restaurants, cozy cafes, and local shops that you’ll simply not miss. Plus, right near the action, you can walk to almost everywhere, which I find SUPER convenient. If you want something a bit quieter yet still close to it all, try the West Asheville zone, which really has a GREAT local vibe.
Best Time to Travel to Asheville, NC
The best time to visit Asheville truly does depend on the kinda experience you want. If I’d to pick, fall is absolutely unbeatable! The colors of the leaves are truly stunning, and the cool weather will make your time in the city so much fun. But spring is also a great time to visit — things start to bloom, and the weather will be perfect for all the outdoor activities. Winter is a lot quieter, but if you don’t mind a little chill, you’ll get a PEACEFUL, much more relaxed Asheville experience.
Cool Places to Stay in Asheville, NC
When I think of cool places to stay in Asheville, a few spots immediately come to mind. One of my absolute favorite places is a boutique hotel right at the very heart of downtown itself. It feels like a snug little hideaway with a very modern touch. If you want something special, look for a converted vintage Airstream or even a treehouse rental!! I’ve seen a few of these on Airbnb that look truly magical. Plus, somewhere different will really add to the fun of the experience.
Weekend
I’ve the perfect itinerary ready for you. You should start in the Biltmore Estate – it’s one of the major attractions in the area, and believe me, it’s well worth it. Take walk through its gardens and the mansion and you will feel like royalty. After that, I love a break to get a bite to eat at one of the truly AMAZING restaurants downtown. Asheville’s whole food scene is really exploding, so be sure to leave some space for dessert, too! Then, take a walk through the River Arts District. It’s full of local galleries, and you can watch the artists at work, too.
Best Time to Go
As I said earlier, fall is really my top choice of time to visit, but early spring or really late winter might suit you better. The warmer summer months do attract quite a few guests, which is great for the events and festivals themselves, but it may also get a bit overfilled. I personally enjoy the less busy off-season when the weather is a nice temperature and there’s much less of a rush at all the popular spots. If you really wanna skip the long lines and crowds, then head there in late winter or early spring.
Honeymoon
Planning a honeymoon in Asheville is perfect. I know a couple who spent their honeymoon here, and they really had an amazing time! You can stay in a cozy little cabin hidden away in the Mountains or a really stylish downtown loft right next to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Imagine a glass of wine on your private porch as you watch the sunset over the mountains – pure sweet atmosphere. Asheville has also got loads of super strange spots for you to visit. The Biltmore Estate is ideal for a romantic stroll right through its gardens, or you could go to one of the many nearby local wineries. I can really see why it’s such a popular honeymoon election!
Do you want only one weekend in Asheville? Then you’ll have to make the very most of it. Trust me, there’s never gonna be a shortage of things to do. Start your Saturday with a really good breakfast at a local café – my favorite is the Sunny Point Café. After that, make your way to the North Carolina Arboretum for a peaceful walk or just to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL scenery. In the afternoon investigate downtown Asheville where you.
