If there’s one AMERICAN city that truly joins fun and facts, it’s Washington, D.C. Also, housing lots of interesting history and places to visit, D.C. has some WONDERFUL neighborhoods to explore.

What to do

You could spend days just around Georgetown or at one of the city’s many great restaurants, which is what makes it so special.

When to visit

Here’s a suggested plan for your first 5 days in the city.

Day 1: National Mall. No trip to Washington, D.C., would be complete without a visit to the National Mall — a huge open space that’s home to many of the city’s most famous sights. Begin your day around the remarking Pool and visit some of the memorials, such as the National World War II Memorial.

There are also lots of FREE museums here, such as the National Museum of American History and the National Air and Space Museum.

Day 2: Smithsonian Museums. Spend today at some of the Smithsonian museums. There are more than 15 to choose from, such as the National Museum of Natural History (with a great dinosaur exhibit!) and

Day 3: Memorials. Start your day by visiting three of D.’s ICONIC memorials – Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and FDR Memorial. All three are located around the Tidal Basin, which makes for a great walk or bike ride.

Day 4: White House. No trip to Washington, D.C. is complete without the White House, but don’t forget to book tickets in advance if you wanna go inside! After some photos from outside the building, head over to Georgetown for a walk along the C&O Canal, followed by some shopping and dinner at one of its many TRENDY restaurants.

Day 5: Zoo. Take a break from sightseeing with a morning at the National Zoo, which houses GIANT pandas and lots of other animals. In the afternoon, head over to Capitol Hill, where you can visit the Capitol Building – maybe even take a tour!
